Free Counsel

Free counsel from Verlyn Long and Evelyn Leite of Rapid City, SD who have a combined 60 years of wisdom in dealing with alcoholics and codependents. And a combined 80 years of sobriety.

To offset the tragedy of the excessive abuse of drinking and drugs caused by COVID-19, we are offering a free group question and answer opportunity via video conferencing. We do this in honor of loved ones we have lost to the disease of addiction. In the honor our group starts September 22 and will be presented very other Tuesday.

Methamphetamine a True Story

She told me this story and asked that I pass it on because maybe it will save someone's life.

"It was Labor Day. I had lost my mother, and then my brother hung himself, a series of events that had me confused and numb. I had no feelings anywhere; it was like I was in someone else's body going through motions like a robot..." Read More >

”Words can be Powerful; carefully put together they are PRICELESS"
Memoirs Rhonda Johnson

Rhonda JohnsonMy name is Mary/Pumpkin. I am one person who has two different personalities, who suffers with a dual diagnosis of depression and drug addiction and I happen to be suicidal. Yet, that is not my story. I am a survivor who lives every day with HOPE. No, life is not always easy and every day is a challenge; however, I have learned to become an advocate for change because society misuses and misunderstands the word addict and needs to understand that everyone has a form of addiction.

It is easy for society to look down on the person suffering with drugs and alcohol but what about the closet addict that lives every day with an addiction and the world does not see or want to believe they have a problem? I, Mary/Pumpkin, had to learn to examine myself and learn what was the ROOT cause of my addictive, mental and suicidal behavior. Once I became a consumer of mental health and received the correct treatment for my undiagnosed mental illness and drug addiction my life began to change. I began to accept my bottom and from there I gained knowledge and recovery from my addiction and undiagnosed mental disorder. I began to conquer and get my life back.

I have learned that all suffering addicts must first admit to their addiction and admit life has become unmanageable. I have learned when the addict becomes true to thy-self, the world of sobriety opens. It is only through knowledge that recovery can be understood and with acceptance that only a Higher Power can save them and give any addict power and the necessary tools to defeat addiction, depression and thoughts of death.

See. I am a survivor of mental health, drug abuse and life of suicidal behavior. For anyone who has walked in my shoes, I can tell you, it is only a Higher Power as the reason why I am not amongst the walking dead.

Testimonials

Evelyn Leite is the most talented counselor I have ever worked with. It is not just her educated skills that make her exceptional, it is her ability to use her instincts at just the right time. It is very hard to truly put your trust in someone with something as important as your true being, all that you are or aren't. The trust that Evelyn builds from the onset is what makes her so remarkable. And in that process creates a path that allows a person the choice to be set free.
